"Last year, at age 49, I began having all the symptoms of menopause - fatigue, irritability, and mood swings, hot flashes and night sweats. Dr. Haendiges understands menopause inside and out, and will never "blow off" a woman's symptoms due to age. Her breadth of knowledge is amazing, and she’s always taken the time to answer the many questions I’ve had. She’s thorough, detailed and a real pleasure to listen to! Her knowledge has worked wonders and helped me put an end to my menopause symptoms once and for all!" Kay R.

Week 8: Sexuality

SexualityMenopause can affect a woman’s sexual drive as lower estrogen levels can cause a decrease in blood supply to the vagina, reducing sensitivity and thereby making it difficult to become easily aroused.

The eighth course in Menopause University explains why this happens and examines the many other reasons why you may experience a loss of libido.

In this session, you’ll learn why a strong libido is important, what you can do to get your sexual drive back if it has decreased, and whether it’s possible to have too much sex.

You’ll also get an understanding of how hormonal changes play a role in sexual functionality, vaginal atrophy and how to get vaginal atrophy treatment without taking hormonal supplements.

At the end of the session, you will be able to judge whether or not your normal sex drive is being impacted by changes to your body, your medications or external factors like stress.  You’ll leave armed with the knowledge to reclaim your libido and start enjoying sex once again.
